What a WEEKEND!

It started out Friday night with a WORLD SERIES WIN. I was there! It was incredible. I'll never forget it. That night will be with me forever. Saturday, my friends at Nordtroms got another visit. I think they missed me. Pictures forthcoming of the haul. The new shoes would make a great HNT....now there's an idea! Saturday night getting in the Halloween spirit I opened a video I bought way long ago, One hour photo. EEEWWWWW can you say creepy. It did the trick. Sunday an amazing brunch with my best friend and two really great guys. After brunch we headed over to see Running with Scissors, great movie, dark comedy. A go see if you think your life was dysfunctional, you will feel completely normal by the time you leave. The acting is fantastic. My weekend was even more fantastic! I hope yours was too! What did you do?

Mia's Magic Shopping Spell

Yes! I LOVE shopping. Surprise! I like to think of myself as a consumer supporting and contributing to the economy. Most men as we know do not really like to shop. They shop if they have to. It's a mission accomplishment type thing, similar to their sexual behavior and conquest. Another blog topic...
Ok, moving on. I'm dating "Chris" Chris is NOT a shopper. Chris does not like shopping. He has the guy at the store pick out stuff, he tries, then buys. Shopping completed... b-o-r-i-n-g. Gets the essentials suit shirt tie, did I mention boring. Saturday morning Chris mentions he has to pick up alterations from Nordstrom. I mention I have a return. Chris says, " PERFECT! Lets go together. My brain kicks in...... ding ding ding, do you have any idea what you are getting into? Lyrics from an Eagles song start going on in my head " You can check out anytime you like, But you can never leave!
Chris likes my fun game, it's called fashion show. I pick out you try on, you pick out I try on.... Five hours later (a short crab bisque break at the cafe) store is closing.
Summary: Chris's purchases:
4 long sleeve awesome shirts
2 silk blend undershirts
2 pair of trendy jeans
1 bottle of cologne
1 goody bag of samples I got from chatting it up with the men's fragrance gal
I fashion show from Mia
And Chris didn't like shopping.........

Good Old Fashioned Lunch

I made a quick stop at the market to pick up a few groceries for the week. My daughter just loves my homemade lunches. Many of the other kids at school bring "Lunchables", which I fondly call "CRAP-ables. Many moms in my neighborhood do not work, Could they at least throw some real honey roasted turkey on some bread? Nope, instead they opt for the process cheese product and mystery meat on crackers. Poor little Tommy has ADD, ADDDHD, ADDDDHHDD, WHY? Couldn't be because he just woofed down 2000 megagrams of nitrates followed by 12 ounces of fructose corn syrup, and we can't forget the special s'more treat with extra frosting. Calm down Tommy, It's not nice to sucker punch the teacher in the stomach while puking at the same time.
Where was I ? Oh so I'm at the deli counter waiting in line and I have to pull one of those number thingys. I look down, NO SHIT I'm number 69! There it is.. Your number 69, when called it's your turn for service.
See what I mean, just another reason NOT to buy a lunchable. SERVICE PLEASE..............

WORKING GIRL ATTIRE, pearl necklace optional

As many of you know from my previous post and comments, I was slaving away in Las Vegas for a Pharmacetuical Convention. I just got back. Tomorrow is an office day. Will the work never end? Thanks to all of you who felt sorry for the grueling days I had on my work trip. Oh and yes, I always wear business attire to the office.

Happy half nekkid Thursday!

All Play and a little work

This is how I started my day: Woke up and got a venti no water chai latte. Then I sashayed down to the Canyon Ranch Spa for a signature facial and foot massage. After I was glowing, sat in the steam room and then finished off with a nice cool shower. I returned back to my suite, read the paper, goofed around on the computer emails etc. Then I went to work, this is where my day really got tough. I had to work the trade show for three hours! Jeez, can you believe it? I mean it is Sunday, there was quite a bit of work I could have been doing at the sports book. Anyway, I made it through. Thank god they had a nice lunch in the middle of the working hours. I FINALLY finished working around 3:30 and just in time to pick up the clothes I had altered from yesterdays little shopping excursion. Whew, I'm tired. I've got a dinner to go to tonight. Back to the grind tomorrow, oh yes I love my job.

UNEXPECTED EXPECTATIONS

So for many of you that have visited me it's no secret that I have been on an internet dating service. For some of my feelings about it go back to post FIRST KISS LAST KISS. I had mentioned it has been exhausting. I was encouraged by the comments I got and how many of you out there in blog land actually met your significants "online". I continued with my cause, finding or (them finding me) that one special person.
I recently met a great man and we had several dates until I learned while he has indicated his marriage has been over for years, he's not divorced yet. The process has just started. It has always been my opinion and rule, not to date someone that has not been divorced at least a year. I've been through it and there is quite a bit of recovery and healing that needs to take place even if you are happy with the divorce. That's my other belief, divorces are not happy. It's and ending, a breakdown, a failure. Someone you once loved and spent time with is now reduced to who gets the "good" silverware. Fortunately my divorce was 6 years ago and we did not have any good silverware. It was amicable. Even though we divorced and it was not a fighting match. It still takes time to heal.
Just when I was ready to sign off Internet Dating for good and continue to meet my dates at whole foods or starbucks..... the "internet people" sent me a list of "possible matches" -they are nice like that.
One jumped off the page. I did not have my "profile" visible so it was a challenge for me to email and make my unusual introduction. I made a short little email and also offered up my blog, just so he knew what a crack pot I was.
We chatted a bit on the phone and made a time to quickly meet. At the last minute I decided I really did not want to go. I just lolly gagged around the house, clock ticking phone in hand to cancel. Then I picked up a pair of jeans from my floor, threw on a black t-shirt, (ok the shoes were awesome) and ran out the door. Powdered my face and lip glossed in the car. Yikes I did not even brush my hair. We meet, I melt...... to be continued.

Today as soon as I finish my longest post ever, I'll pack and leave for Vegas until Wednesday. It's for work. Did I mention I love my job?
Enjoy your weekend!
