THE MOST THANKFUL FOR...

I had THE BEST Thanksgiving ever. My daughter and I went to New York City. It was her first time. I grew up in Westchester N.Y. until about the 7th grade. My parents divorced. My mom, brother and I moved to Florida. My Dad stayed in New York for the best treatments offered at Albert Einstein Hospital for his brain cancer. We would fly up from Florida quite often and spend summers in NYC. We all had great times. Some of my very best memories were right there. Ice skating at Rockerfeller Center, the Rockettes, Carriage rides through Central Park, Fao Schwartz, Hot dogs from street vendors, pizza by the slice bigger than your face, the list goes on. This year I was able to experience all of this and more through my daughter's eyes. As if the trip could not get any better my mom, John (her s.o. of 10 years) and one of my nephews met us there. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Tavern on the Green. On Friday Chris flew in and spent the weekend with us and we all saw WICKED on Broadway.
A little over eight years ago my daughter was born. I never knew how much love I was capable of giving. It continues to grow and at times over flows. Not one day goes by I am not Thankful. She is my most precious gift. Thank you God.

I hope all of you had a really wonderful holiday. I never understood this whole blog thing until a friend of mine introduced me to it. You know who you are, and Thanks. My blogland friends rock!

Thankful continued...

Another special person I'm thankful for is Chris. He recently came into my life but it could not have been at a better time. You know when everything is just right to meet the right person and you don't even expect it? You may have read in a few previous posts how much we are enjoying each other. It's great to have a connection with someone who "gets you" even more important accepts you for all you are. If life truly is a fairytale, I am a real life Cinderella, he treats me like a princess! You know what they say, If the glass slipper fits...

Thats what friends are for.....

This week is Thanksgiving. I have so very much to be thankful for and will be sharing in upcoming blogs. Today I want to introduce my BBF ( Best friend forever) Margaret. We met around this time of year and have been the best of friends. The kind of friend you have that is there for you no matter what. She is there for me not only for the fun party shopping girlie play time, but also in the down in the dumps or when you've been dumped times. She is an incredible person. A single mom of a 12 yo boy, has a demanding full time job, and is finishing school. She has a full life but still makes time for us. We connect on many levels, have very similar backgrounds, experiences, and life dreams. We have laughed and cried together. She is my soul sister or as Margaret likes to say... sister sledge.
Thanks girl, you are the best.
Love, Mia xo

We're Not In Kansas anymore....

We aren't so sexy now are we... With the dust bunny broom and a bucket full of bleach water. Saturday night, my daughter is watching a movie and I turned into the wicked witch of the west. I'll get you my pretty and your little DIRT too. Ever clean and clean and then take a look and things look worse than when you started?! This just happened to me. I call it zig zag cleaning. I zigged into a closet to start cleaning and organizing. I realized that a box of pictures should be put into another room. When I got ( zagged) in that room, I noticed a few other things that should be put in to the aforementioned closet. On the way (zig) to the closet I thought damn my floor looks really bad, so I got (zag) a broom. I had to pee so I went to the bathroom and realized as I was washing my hands I needed to clean the sink and mirror. I went to get (zag) the glass cleaner and paper towel. When I opened the cabinet to get the windex and paper towel I realized the cabinet could use some organizing.... zig zag zig zag. .. A really hot bath, candles and a glass of champagne is sounding way more productive right now.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

What happens to a woman? After the baby comes she feels she has to cut off all her hair, discontinue any make up application, drive a mini van, wear keds, and buy the TADA... "Mom Jeans." Do some feel it is a right of passage? I just don't get it. I need someone to explain this phenom to me. Then something even more horrid occurs...... Nooooooooooooo, NOT the HOLIDAY SWEATERS....
